Purvanchal Maharashtra Mandal is group of Marathi Community of Delhi. Based in East Delhi, was established on 14th April 1984. The Mandal was established with an idea to have a forum for interaction for the Maharashtrians residing in East Delhi. Today this is a well established and has strong presence in East Delhi.
The Mandal celebrated various Marathi Festivals together at various locations in East Delhi. Everybody who has Maharashtra in his heart is welcome to attend various programs organized by the Mandal.
Mandal Celebrates its Vardhapan Din (Annual Day of Establishment) on Saturday after 14th April.
Mandal celebrates Maharashtra's Main festival Ganesh Utsav, which is celebrated for 5 days starting from the Ganesh Chaturthi which falls on Chaturthi of the Bhadarpad Month of Marathi Calander.
Mandal organizes various programs during all the five days including a Maha Prasad on one of the days during the five days. Ganesh Pooja is Performed every day followed by Aarti. The daily program follows after the evening Aarti.
Various comeptitions like Rangoli Competition, Drawing and Painting Compitition and other events are organized during this festival.
Ganesh Utsav culminates with the immersion of the Ganesh Murti in the Holy river Yamuna on the Anant Chaturdashi. A procession is taken up from Chandni Chowk to the Yamuna river where all the members participate in the procession.
Sharad Pornima or Kojagiri is celebrated with lots of fan & fare by the enthusiastic members of the Mandal.
Diwali Milan is a much awaited program to get together and share the celebrations of Diwali along with the tasty diwali items prepared on the occassion of Diwali.
Picnic is always an occassion to enjoy various places in and around Delhi where everybody go together to enjoy a outing from the same daily schedule, and that too with our own group of Marathi people.
In the gregarion new year i.e. in the month of January Sankranti festival as celebrated with the traditional Haldi Kumkum, Vaan and TIL GUL. Since Last Two years Mandal has been organizing Blood Donation Camp on occassion of Sankranti.
Mandal Collaborates with Other Mandals in Delhi to get Marathi People together and give best of Events and Social Connect in Delhi
